In this episode, Siew shares with us how she and Australia Post have heavily invested in business intelligence, data analytics, and robotic process automation (RPA), so they could always improve the delivery performance for Australians.
Siew further elaborated on the delivery performance from the business perspective. This can be achieved by asking the critical questions to pursue high performance and continue to improve the postal and delivery service.
By adopting this approach of strict self-evaluation, she and her team are able to foster a mindset of constant performance enhancement.
Apart from that, she also shares with us how her academic background in engineering helps as the foundation to jump-start a career in data and analytics. And how one can get into data science without having a background in computer sciences.
Having worked on the roles regarding BI and RPA, she also shares her experience on how one can transition from one to another.
Another important point that she touches on is the importance of knowing your business situation, requirements, and needs before investing in data technologies.
Also, about the issue of job loss due to technological innovation and automation, she explains how employees and leaders can work together to bring all into the journey of continuous growth and evolution.
